Our Process

Mledtech™ approaches each project as a unique opportunity to exceed the customers, the players and the observers expectations in terms of improved lighting delivered, improved visual comfort as well as operational savings.  Our process steps help streamline this effort. 

1 Site Visit and Survey

At the customer's request, Mledtech™ performs an extensive site visit which includes:

  • recording site measurements to supplement satellite imagery.
  • existing equipment surveys.
  • taking existing light levels at all necessary points on the surface.
  • discussion with staff to determine hours of operations and any improvements needed to lighting estimate.
2 Preliminary Design and Proposal

Mledtech™ completes the preliminary engineering necessary to be able to prepare a lump sum proposal.  This typically includes the following:

  • photometric study.
  • review of existing poles and structure for retrofitting.
  • pole, structure and foundation design for new installations.
  • power requirements and sizing.
  • control requirements.
  • research available utility incentives.
3 Customer Review and Approval / Utility Incentive Application

Mledtech™ will meet directly with financial decision makers to go over final proposal in detail.  Once the proposal is approved, Mledtech™ will apply on the customer's behalf for any available utility incentives.  After receiving pre-approval for any utility rebates, the engineering needed to finalize the procurement order will be completed and procurement started.

4 Procurement / Construction / Quality Control and Commissioning

Upon receipt of utility incentive pre-approval, final engineering approval and deposit, Mledtech™ will manufacture the fixtures to the exact requirements of the design.  LED color temperature, beam angles, lumen output, etc. are all custom manufactured for each project.  Lead time is typically 3-4 weeks for manufacturing plus shipping.

Mledtech™ will work with the customer's contractor to provide them with detailed computer aiming points which can be set while on the ground.  Upon completion of the construction, we will perform an as-built light level diagram and compare that to the photometric study to insure that predicted light levels and uniformity are achieved.  Adjustments will be made to aiming, fixture output, etc. until the as-built light levels meets those predicted by the photometric study.

5 Construction - Time Determined by Contractor

Mledtech™ will work with the customer's contractor to provide them with detailed computer aiming points which can be set while on the ground.
